I was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and immigrated to Palm Springs, California when I was 7 years old. From an early age, I began drawing and painting to feel connected to the world. I consider myself a Mexican-American artist, specializing in abstract expression. I primarily work with oils and also work with mixed-media.
Art and painting is part of my inner world, which at times needs to express itself through my hand and brush. Art is my therapy and a form to clear my head of any perplexities, concerns, and confusion.
My body of work is a mixture of abstract and expression with a combination of both, because my painting subjects take a turn from what is seen to the real underlined meaning. Sometimes I deconstruct forms to express them in a whole new meaning. My paintings vary from images to abstract expression. I mainly make abstract paintings to reflect the ideas in my head and have the observer make her/his own interpretation and see beyond its intention.
